Last week, we mourned the death of one of the world's most dedicated conservationist.

Steve Irwin.

I'm sure many of you have watched his exploits on tv before. Maybe not for you, but his programmes, Croc Hunter, made me more interested in animals. I don't personally know him, but through the years i have grown fond of him, from his khaki outfit to that "Crikey! That little bugger's has got me shakin' like a leaf" and other funny but likeable phrases. Maybe call me crazy, but he's the only few stars i know of that has never changed, from the early years till now, he's still wore that same old outfit (i wonder if he changed his clothes), still with that grin on his face, still there, and looked as if he'll be there for years to come.

Of course he died. Everyone has to die sometimes, but maybe it was the strangeness of his death that caused people to wonder. Stingrays, normally shy creatures, killing him? I'd always thought he would die a peaceful death when he was old, but being killed by something that you're trying to protect - it doesnt send the right message. But animals are like that.

Steve Irwin. A friend to the animals. The world shall never forget you.
