Soccer

Games are meant to be fun and enjoyable.

It isnt about whether who is better or who tackles more, it should be about bonding together and playing as a team. Doesnt concern winning or losing.

You probably are thinking why i am saying this. Well, to put it bluntly, we lost. But it doesnt matter, look at the above reasons.

We played ok, but there are a few problems. Not criticizing anyone but...

Why the final scoreline was 1-0 against us:

Gifford's knowledge of rules
Not saying hes stupid, but as he was referee for the first match, thought he should have known the PROPER WAY TO THROW THE BALL BACK INTO PLAY. Twice he did it wrongly, and they were kinda key moments. Did pretty well besides that though.

Jeremy's lack of shots
I think that as a striker, Jeremy wasnt too good. When we pumped long shots, he couldnt control them and this led to loss of chances. He had a one on one with the goalie and still couldnt do it. Should be a midfielder me thinks.

Manfred and my aiming
We didnt do too well either.
Good thing: We made and had many opportunities
Bad thing: Somehow, not a single one of them came close.
Really, today our eyes took a break and totally missed every shot. I defended most of the times, and manfred was really hot. But no goals.

Alex's defending
None at all. Took a while to catch the ball properly and kick it. SHould be a middie.

Jian Wei's defending
pretty good, but sometimes he disappears. Why?

Wai Choong's goalkeeping
Why i put it here? CAuse if not for him, the scoreline would be 3-0 or more. Brilliant. Responsible for our great defending in the face of danger.

Aloysius and Bryan's Absence
Aloysius, our coach, wasnt even here to watch us. If he was here, gifford wouldnt have taken the throwins, jeremy would be switched or moved to a more effective position, and the team would be more confident.

Bryan's absence was partially aloysius' fault too. If aloysius put him on the team instead of Jeremy, he would have been there. I think Bryan would have been better than Jeremy in this instance.

Referee decisions
The referee right before the goal of our opponents didnt give us a throw in instead of the opponents throwing in as they had a foul throw. Not saying anything...

So, all in all it was arguments all over.

Ah, the sweet sound of football!
