Ahem. Good morning school...
on Saturday, 01 scouts sent teams of scouts to participate in the National Scout Pioneering Competition (NSPC). Although the day was bright and sunny, and everyone's spirits were high (not with estasy...), I regret to inform you that we have only won 2 silvers. Dun fret though, everyone; we still managed to beat 02 by a score line of 2 silvers to a silver and a bronze. Clap for 02 ppl. You know they tried their best... dun swan them... okay maybe a bit...
Congrats to BT (Blindfold tentage) for making it silver even though you were almost eliminated at the start, but appealed for a faulty tent and got in, (gd job bryan!), congrats too to our ventures who btw your structure roxs! got so many banners =) must have convinced the judges.
Before we get too carried away in booing those that didnt win anything... i would like to say a few words. 321 were minutes faster than the rest of the competitiors, even those in the finals, but they got eliminated in the heats due to some bad communication. With the Scouts Association that is. They thought that 6m was supposed to be the height of the whole flagstaff, but evidently they said it was the length from the ground to the bottom of the flag instead. Life is unfair. Too bad, hiok and sup.
Chariot got into the finals, kenneth and team zooming past everyone, just that they got knocked down by strong opposition (cat high... grrr...).
Sour Grapes had a little screw up. But it wasnt our fault; the rules of the competition was changed only half an hour before the event, and we had to adjust to fit the new criteria. boo. oh well, we learnt a lot of valuable lessons through training for this event. I just cant believe that its finally over. I thank the following ppl for their contributions...
Anurak, for... anuraking? Positive attitude lead to our morale being higher than the 4m pole we were climbing, but, stop blaming amos pls!
Amos, for making sure i didnt go splat on Rong Jun or some other guy. Never gave up.
Rong Jun, for not killing me with your power blows (your aim sucks) and for leaving a big space on your thigh for me to step on.
Marcus... for being there? Come more often, man.
Zaki, for enlightening me on the differences between GEPers and non gepers, and why GEP sucks.
Kelvin, for losing graciously to me cuz you were always slower (lol). Thanks also for returning that one buck you owed me.
Wayne, "there will be a day where the spirit of men shall fail..." great inspiration
Arnold and Wenyu, for always pumping in our minds the golden rule... "cheeboh up the pole, then cheeboh down the pole."
The school may now clap for the scouts...
