Just came back from watching the production of the Arena. Its Raffles vs Dunman Sec. Its quite a new experience for me to watch the actual production of a show I see on TV, and to be part of the audience. =D Its surprising what you see on the set that you can't see at home.

Reached RI at 9am, even though the actual arrival time is 9.30. Why so early? Because... I dun have a ticket. Yes, you need a ticket to get admitted into the studio. What a bummer. Chin jie supposedly kept one for me but he gave it away before i could 'claim' it. Argh. But then the amazing debater nick quah tells me i can just gatecrash on the date itself and the teachers would gimme a ticket. If not, then i woke up early, wasted my time for nothing. Hmm. That would be sad.

Met aaron there. He's going too, yay! After walking to 7-11 and back, some teachers came. I asked, and they gave me the ticket immediately. Lol worry for nothing.

A bus came and sent us to the studio. Then we sat down and waited for the production to start. And waited. And waited. And waited. Aaron started to play his music game on his phone and I just stoned. Oh yes, Zhang Ren was there also, and... um... well...

We managed to get started at 11.30. So that means 2.5 hours of stoning. Zzz. Got a front row seat. The set is smaller than I expected, just a semicircle part u see on tv. Its kinda flimsy, so we couldnt do our unite cheer in case the seats fell down. The black background you see on TV's a black cloth, with a few lights to simulate stars i think. Pillars at the back for the arena? Ren jie leant against it and the whole thing became crooked. But the light effects were cool. On the ceiling theres so much machinery that its kinda hard to figure out which light comes from where.

Theres a lot of clapping in the Arena. A LOT. There's like a code thing that the host told us before we began. Something like everytime the word 'arena', 'trophy', 'winner', 'Raffles', 'Dunman' is said, its a cue for everyone to start cheering madly. Most of the times we were asked to just stand up and cheer for nothing. So that they can get a nice shot. During the breaks two women would step up and get us to cheer somemore. Then they ask us questions.

"And what school is this?"
"RAFFLES!"
"And who do you think will win?"
"RAFFLES!"
"You sure you can win?"
"Um... raffles?!"

We just shouted raffles for all the answers. Seems appropriate. The dunman side just screams like hell. Girls...

The fun part were between the shots. Ren Jie and a korean sec 1 went up to debate about the motion with two other audiences. They talked a lot of cock.

"If you watch a lot of NC16 movies does it mean you become a rapist?"

"Like Ashish over here, look at him. Although he has done many despicable inmoral acts in his life, we still are proud of him. Only his looks matter!"

"Adil, get her phone number!"

"I have a dream... that one day people will shout out OMG Raffles won!"

Lol. Even though it was disappointing in some aspects these parts made up for it. =)
