i think i'll just do a little more R and R (reflect and review) on NPC now... just some thoughts, no major event by event summary. because there's just too much to say. and i'll focus on 01, not all the other imba patrols out there who are seriously imba.
let's see... there's that happy yet sad feeling again... maybe you know the one. where you know you're lucky to be in the position that you're in but then you feel you could have done so much better... i think i have that feeling maybe 4 times this year... its not a very... very um... (something) feeling but i think it'll pass. haha once again.
but silver's great too. we maintain our position since the last NPC, but most important i had loads of fun... even though its a competition there's lots of friendliness around... makes me realise just how wide scouting in Singapore really is... and that there are so many more cool people with skills and creativity beyond the usual schools. even the schools which didnt win anything had something worthy of being displayed... better than AC by loads. Must especially thank Changkat Changi, Swiss Cottage, St Andrews for being amazing neighbors and livening up things.
NPC wasn't very tough physically, but since it was a competition there's a lot of stress la. for all the pioneering stuff like gadgets and gateway and tower we couldn't really change much, but we did our best with all the mugger-ble stuff like quiz and skit. on the last day when the sub-camp chief said that we all took at least a week to prepare for this camp, we almost laughed out loud because IT WAS ONE WEEK. from the thursday before right up to the thursday of the camp. Dang that OIP.
but i think, most important, must thank the 7 wonderful people in the 01 team. AC was fun because of a few certain people who made the saikang bearable. i think NPC is fun because of everyone. even saikang stuff like cooking and cleaning and refilling bottles got volunteers immediately (thanks gabriel kok haha)
Kenneth, our patrol leader, our CCAL next year. its been quite stress for him, with coordinating all the preparations and attending PLC at nights... sometimes need to loosen up a bit, yea, but here's a guy you can turn to when you want something to be done. Sorry for pushing all the bigger decisions to you, giving more doubts etc... haha i by nature quite perfectionist, even if i can't achieve that.
Hiok, ACCAL next year. He is a damn fun guy, people just graviate towards him la. Been in KF for two years with him, yea, i regret not talking more with him then. No question on his abilities. Its been nice even just chatting, from/to the toilet, slacking at camp. Thanks dude, you rock! Let's become closer friends k? (:
Jack. ever since i knew him when he just joined 01, he's been a really good friend. haha loads in common, even PSLE score (lol). I think i talked to him the most during NPC, i think he's a refreshing change from all those people who just want to crack jokes all the time. hmm he's the kind that you can really open up towards and just talk about anything... hope you've enjoyed scouts so far, enjoyed the new friends that you've made, and never regret your decision to join. cuz we haven't regretted you in our scouting lives (:
Alvin. That's me! I think i'm still damn quiet and reserved in NPC, but at least in my patrol i can safely say i contributed. Angsty at times, a little complain-y, sometimes clueless, a bit bossy. ok that sounds pretty bad. yea, hope you all enjoyed camping with me, i know i can improve in some places, yea, so bear with it (:
Yi Ming, that imba imba SU QM. totally he's a great guy, quite playful but also, i feel, quite mature loh. cooking skills is still some bomb delicious, pioneering also good, overall i feel one of the best sec 2s 01 has now... never talked much before, its been nice with all your talk cock and stuff... oh and he's evil. never tell me the secret to the finger game until damn damn late. grr. Evil! serves u right, join 3M next year haha... M is pretty screwed up. look at me lol.
Rui Liang, that naughty 
Gabriel! "What?" haha the saikang warrior, at the start a bit quiet, but opened up quite a lot throughout NPC, thanks to rui liang lol. i know nicholas because he was from KF, but Gabriel's quite different la. he's damn hardworking. with washing, refilling, and other misc jobs... and also spinning pens. lol. check out the expert zhong jun ba. he's the moraliser of our patrol, and thanks for not getting angry... lol just sit and stone and laugh. great guy, great sec 1.
Wesley. Smart, well-travelled, and secretly plotting the demise of everyone who crosses him. lol. not like that la, but yea, he seems like the new Jeremy of the sec 1s.... combi with yi ming in cooking produces 5 star food... seriously better than the stuff they provide in packets. maybe needs to work a bit on his skills like pioneering but good job for someone joined this year... keep it up!thanks guys. da fun.
