Right. So basically camperama is a family 'camping' event held by Siglap CC. Our seniors helped out in previous years, and leonard, royce, mervyn had links. yup, so 10 of us decided to go! Didn't realise that there was Maths CCT on monday... anyway, i think i did ok on that one. except that the last question is almost guaranteed zero marks (T.T)
Firstly we loaded our logistics at Braddel West Lake onto this small lorry. Leonard leng was there too, and it was his two mighty hands that shut the poleshed gate FULLY (i dun think i ever saw it happen before!).

Leonard gets ready to display his manlinesss...In the end after the lorry driver's approval, we squeezed onto the lorry and took a ride to Changi! woohoo. Technically we didnt break any rules since the lorry said 9 pax at the back, and we were exactly 9! The journey was super windy and nice. Ownage!
When we arrived at Changi beach, we unloaded and set up the tents to store our bags. The location chosen was this huge field next to the beach, ideal for activities. After that we set up the two gateways. It took up the rest of the afternoon because we were kind of taking it slow (lots of time haha).
Tak: OTOT! (own time own target, or better known as one TAK one target)Midway, this small kitten came up to us (ok, actually kenneth) and started randomly rubbing against his leg. Then the rest of us went and play with it too (: cute! we called it Bony (because it was quite skinny).
Bony!Soon, it was getting dark, so hiok, francis and joel went to buy dinner while the rest of us played cards. Dinner was a huge portion of hokkien mee. After that we kind of just talked and played cards, listened to music. Pretty relaxing. Mervyn came and joined us for the rest of the camp. The other logistics for the camperama came too, like chairs and tables and stuff.

At about 11pm most of us went to sleep, but zj, rj, anurak and i stayed up to play hearts! Lucky game! I won the first 5 sets without gaining a single point and managing to shoot the moon! When anurak reached 100 pts i only had 17 pts. Yay. Then, set up a nice pillow using the spare tents and slept.
Next day, woke up at about 7am, just in time for sunrise (sorry tak). We all went to the hawker centre for breakfast, and then started to build the campfire. Basically just chopped up poles arranged in tepee formation on top of zinc plates. Tricky. Soaked gunny sack in kerosine to get it flammable.
Moved the gateway to their positions. There was an ant nest at one of the position. Francis had a lighter. Hiok had deodrant. You can guess what happened. BURN!!!
We were feeling bored so using a spare pole and a monkey fist, we played softball! Started out as some stupid idea but eventually it was quite fun, we played like 4 innings. Monkey-fist as a ball isn't too bad! I prefer using one hand to bat, quite accurate anyway haha.
Later on in the morning the organisers arrived, and we set up our kitchen tents next to the pavillion. There was this awesome sound system too. The first few songs were by Daughtry in their new album, and was pretty good! After the first kitchen tent was up, we had lunch (chicken cutlet noodle), and then set up the next kitchen tent. Now the pavillion looked like a nice outdoor house.
At about 2pm, the participants started arriving. About 40+ in total i think. Nanyang Polytechnic was organising the games, so we mostly stayed out of the way and just watched. Participated in the tug-of-war though. Haha the team with me, kenneth, francis and amos won overall, thanks to some imba guy who rocks at tug-of-war.
Another game of softball to pass the time, before dinner was ready and the campfire was coming soon! The camperama people actually got a band to come down, the Changi Gliders, who were great and knew how to play nice songs. Oldies too (joel was happy haha). He even got a song request, 'Faithfully', which is very nice of them!
Campfire! The fire was big (thanks francis, mervyn) Started with the 01 Annual Show game, where the audience is split into groups and attack each other via cheering. (red indians-chinese warriors-cowboys etc). Then, one of the Siglap guys came and led the crowd with songs. And then we did our own little game of charades. Then there was more performances by the band and even durian! yu
While waiting for the crowd to die down, we went to the beach and just talked. In Changi, the planes come and go every few minutes... you can always see the next one coming. Its like they are waiting in line... just like our homework assignments. Haiz. One after another, enough to keep us constantly busy. Camping is a great stress-reliever.
Night cycling! Haven't cycled in ages, and it was fun! I don't think you can feel tired cycling. Maybe just a little aching, but not tired. We cycled from Changi to East Coast to Bedok to Changi again. More than 42km, especially since we got lost a bit. But, a great experience nonetheless. Loyang Avenue was especially wheeeeee because it was a slope throughout. Reached back late, bathed and instantly slept. Wow.
Last morning. Some participants were packing up to leave, since there was only a boardwalk left. Must have been tired from the late night movie marathon too. We ate our breakfast, dismantled our gateway and our other logistics before setting off on the lorry again.
