Teachers Day Celes

Wow, another week is gone! Keeping one eye on the game at Old Trafford, let's review the matches and build up to the big game between Manchester United and Arsenal.

First, we had the dramatic clash of Higher Chinese Prelims vs Alvin on Tuesday. The Prelims were the overwhelming favourites, but no one really liked them so Alvin had the crowd support. Pre-match reports indicated that Alvin trained really hard for the match, even forcing himself to go through hours of chinese notes (yuck) to find out more about the Prelim's playing style. The match itself was very exciting, split into 2 halves. Alvin got off to a good start in the first half, with Paper 1 proving to be a relatively straightforward opponent. However, when Paper 2 came on at halftime, Alvin had to work extra hard navigating around tricky questions. Yes, his hands were tired, but at least he tried. The results are still being confirmed by the match officials from the HMT department, so cross your fingers!

Next there was the friendly of the Ventures vs First Aid Injuries. This match was really last minute, and many of the players were only told to bring their equipment the night before. However, coaches ZX and Cheeyeow went through tactics and plans before the big match, so at least they were prepared. For example, opponents such as the tricky twins Heat Exhaustion and Heat Stroke had to be dealt with carefully. After a relatively dull first period, the game erupted into an intense war, with First Aid Injuries employing sneaky tactics to get the better of the Ventures. Choking reared its ugly head, while a Dog came and bit Kenneth on the leg twice. The crowd was also rowdy, with 5kg pencils flying about, along with Magical Dragons breathing Fire. In the end, the Ventures prevailed. (hope we pass!)

Finally, Thursday was the day of the annual Class Club Tornament, this time held in the land of Physics. 4M vs Physics. They were relative newcomers, but don't underestimate them; Physics has lots of tricks under their sleeves. While their 3 main threats seem to be Magnetism, Motor and Generator, there were also creative players like Aluminium Ring and Loop ABCD who probed 4M's weak spots. Some players were clueless and helpless on how to tackle these players! Oh no! However, the team showed great resilience to fight back and even scored a few goals of their own. Although the results are not known yet, the manager Mrs Tay has said that the signs are encouraging, with some person (haha) getting full marks for MCQ! Kudos to his Man Of The Match performance!

Teacher's Day Celes was fun! 32 candles, lots of wax, cake face-smashing, 'book', presents for teachers, cards, performances. The 'book' for Mrs Tay really took a lot of effort, so I hope she likes it!

Refurb Comm met with Viriya after that. Our turn to shine! Jiayou!

Go Arsenal! (:
