Night Hike (Nike Hike!)

September Hols! Just 1 month to EOYs and 2 months to HMT O :(

Saturday (till Sunday) was Pioneering and Hike (PnH).

For pioneering, the ventures did 2 hourglass structures in less than 2 hours. Wow. Then we 'buffed around'. Nasi Lemak from S11 was overestimated, 15 packets for 8 ventures? (of course we couldn't) Then took pictures with the finished structures! SU's looked pretty good, including 1/3 of a super tall structure, so good job to them! Then, we dismantled everything (the part I really hate) and carried logistics back to RI. Luckily there was this old trolley waiting for us. Pushing it along the brick road was really noisy, and especially sad for BB who were having their passing out parade in the Raffles Square haha.

Tak Wei put in a lot of effort for Night Hike (Nike Hike), so it was great to see it pay off. The hike was around the city area, so we passed by F1 roads. It also involved lots of tracking back, and we passed Plaza Singapura at least 3 times that night (...) The Flyer was interesting to look at, but it also meant that we had to trek an incredibly long distance back to RI. We were all tired at the end, but we still stayed up for what was probably the most fun part: the night! Carrom, Macs, 'PT', Cards. Didn't sleep that night... time really flew. The next day we broke off, ate breakfast together, went home, and I promptly slept almost the whole day. (:

On monday, we had batch outing at Dhoby Ghaut.

We had a late lunch at 'Acia' (taking advantage of the free flow of ice-cream and drinks), then played pool. At 4 we had to end to rush off to CCA Branch to catch the closing ceremony of Hillary Challenge. Had to wait a while, but we caught the teams in action as they completed their final challenge. Dinner was provided, so as cheapskates we just stayed on to enjoy, otherwise we always could have went to Hiok's house to eat grass instead (:

The results announcement was pretty anti-climatic, because the third place team came in about 800 points behind the first two. And the first two were, of course, RI-RGS teams, with Team 1 (kenneth) in second and Team 2 (francis) first! Good job to them! Haha looking at the video montage I can see how gruelling it is, and it just makes me admire them more.

After that, we went to celebrate with Francis before going home. At a petrol kiosk lol.

Just want to say how fortunate I am to be with so many outstanding people in my CCA, not just Francis and Kenneth. They are role models to me and I hope that I will draw from their strengths and become a better person myself.
