Facilitated for the Student Leader Camp (SLC)! The last SLC was when we were Sec 1s I think. Anyway the other facils were francis, joel, anurak, tak, ben goh, huan hock, jon see, tat hsiang, zi qi, with hiok and zhi joining us for the first part. Seems like a trend here? Yup, all UG people haha (:

Orienteering, planned by Francis! It was pretty cool, following a group of 8 of the future leaders of RI as they stared at a piece of paper and tried to navigate their way. It wasn't as bad as I thought... the only 3 parts where they screwed up was:

1) when they thought that the school gate checkpoint was a totally different gate from a totally different school,
2) when they practically circled the fire hydrant checkpoint before getting misled by a random uncle,
3) when they walked a road for its entire length before realising they were on the wrong road

BUT overall, it was pretty well done... and not just the 02 dude (Eugene btw). Some of the others, like Waye, showed strong leadership too. Anyway, besides eating the immense meal packets they provided for us and growing fat (there were in total 4 mars bars, 4 apples and at least 6 different buns), I also talked to Mr. Romi, who is quite friendly and approachable! We talked about NZ, biking, leadership and lots of other stuff. Well, teachers are humans, aren't they? XD

Campfire at night. A small one, using the wok we previously used for the Holympics. Ben Goh and Huan Hock were the emcees, which they did a great job despite not knowing a single campfire song (that was where we came in haha). Skits by the different groups were hilarious.

Then, the next day we had dragonboating at Kallang. I think dragonboaters are seriously imbalanced, how can they keep rowing on one side and not develop asymmetrical bodies? And our boat, with 16 people, tied with all the other 3 boats with 18-20 people. Skillz.

We rushed off to Group Celes at East Coast. Cards, beach soccer, barbeque, the usual. Food was plentiful and good though (kenneth ate... how many chicken wings?), and we managed to starve the 'parasites' out of the pavilion.

The final horseshoe, and the announcement of postholders for 2010. For me, it wasn't so much the anticipation, just a sense of excitement that we were finally becoming the leaders of 01. After such a great year of venturing, it will be a challenge to take on the roles which we have respected for so many years.

As GC'10, I know that we will be equal to that challenge (:
