After about a month's worth of preparations, our efforts finally paid off yesterday, when more than 400 scouts and guides participated in our campfire.
Every 01 campfire is special. 2006 was my first time, totally eye-opening just to be a part of it all. 2007, performed(!) for the first time on a stage, hearing the cheers. 2008 was working behind the scenes, making the costumes and working as a stagehand. 2009 we had our mega-structure, stormed the hakka in front of the Sarimbun flames. And 2010... well, it comes full circle doesn't it? (:
Choreographing the clown dance was a fun experience. Not just coming up with the dance itself, teaching the Sec 1s, joking with them, putting in hours just for that precious few minutes. Watching them during the actual show makes me proud. Great job clowns!
Registration was thick and fast, a few troops came without RSVP-ing, so we had to accommodate for that. Due to a pile-up in the structure (heard it was cool!), we started the campfire half an hour late. Then, disaster struck! The AV wires were screwed up so we couldn't show any of the videos/powerpoints at all! Luckily Chin Yang managed to fix it rather quickly (although left with only yellow) so... the show went on! Clown dance was kawaii, tamer dance was superb, mime dance was awesome! And the songs and games went well too. (:
Anurak, Jack, Hiok, Kenneth, Amos, Joel, Francis! GC'10, we did it! Everyone managed their role amazingly and as a team, as friends, it clicked. Thanks also to 01-06 and the Jx-es for coming down to give us their support!
I don't know what I've been told,
