Brown Eyes / Blue Eyes

Since tomorrow is Racial Harmony Day, we had a Civics lesson about stereotypes and discrimination... and it was pretty interesting, maybe because Mr Seah is really good at keeping everyone interested with his sense of humour! Or it could be the pretty windmills

One thing we did was to write 4 traits that defined ourselves to share with others. I had a hard time figuring out what to write. Alright, it wasn't important or anything, but just imagine having to jam your entire life into 4 short phrases, just 4 and expect people to have a fair impression of you. It sucks to be judged like that.

And that's what I basically think of discrimination. It only exists because people are so judgemental that they believe even the most remote difference MUST make them either superior or inferior beings, when all it actually does is just show how innately special each of us are. There are no cookie-cutter groups in life man.

It may seem kinda unrelated, but in the same reasoning thats why the Raffles Diploma idea might merely reinforce current stratas of a geek, a jock, and a musician instead of seeking to help groom students with diverse interests. Check out the funny video about RD on youtube!

Sometimes, there's much to gain from a little grey area in life!

(although yes, scouts will dominate the world one day heheheh)
