omg spelt guantanamo bay as guatamalo bay in my GP essay D: must have confused it with guatermala or something! if it sorta sounds the same will i still get marks?
was going home from NTU yesterday after H3, got into the MRT at Pioneer (2nd on line) and went to Paya Lebar (22nd on line) to change to circle line. Since it was the second stop on the line, there were empty seats, i just sat down. Begin the seat conundrum!
First decision point is when people flood into the train at a busy station, like Jurong East. That's when all seats are taken up and most people will have to stand. If there's an elderly/handicapped/pregnant person, you should obviously give up your seat, but what if everyone's relatively young? Kept my seat then, cos there was still a long journey ahead!
Second decision point is when some questionable people come in. For me, it was a slightly obese women who stood right in front of me. If I kept my seat, there's a chance that she might need it and be annoyed. If I gave her my seat, there's a chance that she might get offended, plus I still had 15+ stations to go so both of us would have to stare at each other awkwardly and/or ignore each other completely for a long time. Sense the internal turmoil!
Next time I'll just stand from the start la haha.
